Addressing Myopia Early
Myopia (nearsightedness) is a common vision condition that can affect your child’s distance vision from a young age. We understand that myopia can be challenging for your kids both inside and outside the classroom. That’s why we offer myopia control options such as MiyoSmart and MiSight contact lenses.

What Is Myopia Control?
Myopia is a vision condition caused by an elongated eyeball or a cornea that is curved too steeply. As a result, light does not focus correctly on the retina, causing distant objects to appear blurry.
Through our myopia control methods like MiyoSmart and MiSight contact lenses, we can help slow this process down to help your kids enjoy clear vision.
Common Myopia Symptoms
Some common signs and symptoms of myopia can include:
- Blurry vision when looking at faraway objects
- Headaches
- Squinting to see distant objects
- Eye strain
If your kids are experiencing any of these symptoms, contact our team to determine if our myopia control methods could benefit your child.

The Education Aspect of Myopia
School is an important part of your kids’ lives. When they have trouble with their eyesight, it can impact their daily life, including reading from a distance, seeing the whiteboard, and participating in sports and other activities.
This can cause children to feel stressed or confused, and if left undiagnosed, it may cause them to fall behind.
We’re here to provide professional care and personalized treatment options to help your kids excel both inside and outside the classroom.
Our Myopia Control Methods
We offer myopia control methods such as MiyoSmart lenses and MiSight contact lenses. A consistent eye exam schedule is also a crucial aspect of myopia control that allows our team to stay up-to-date with your child’s visual health.
If your kids are having struggles with their vision and you have myopia concerns, we can help.
Hoya MiyoSmart lenses are a safe and noninvasive method to manage myopia. These lenses can help slow down the progression of myopia in myopic children by up to 59 percent.
MiyoSmart lenses use zones of peripheral defocus to help slow down myopia progression. This process blurs your child’s peripheral vision but corrects their central vision, helping make their distance vision clearer.
MiSight 1 day lenses are soft contact lenses that can help manage myopia for children. These lenses use ActivControl technology to help correct and slow the progression of myopia in children aged 8–12 at the start of their treatment.
MiSight lenses help correct nearsightedness by reducing the eye’s refractive power, thus allowing light to focus correctly on the retina. They are designed to be comfortable and easy to use, making them a viable option for children who may not be suitable candidates for other myopia control treatments such as ortho-k.
